FOX Sports Ohio is excited to announce their 2010 Cincinnati Reds spring training telecast schedule beginning on Friday, March 5, 2010 at 3 PM. The Reds are entering their first spring training at Goodyear Ballpark in Goodyear, Arizona.

FOX Sports Ohio will televise three (3) spring training games including the first ever home game for the Reds at Goodyear Ballpark on March 5 against the Cleveland Indians.

The complete schedule is as follows:

Friday, March 5 Reds vs. Cleveland Indians 3:05 PM
Thursday, March 18 Reds vs. Cleveland Indians 4:05 PM
Monday, March 22 Reds vs. Colorado Rockies 4:05 PM

Opening Day at Goodyear Ballpark is Military Appreciation Day, which will include military members in the pre-game ceremonies, United States Marines Color Guard on the filed, military National Anthem singer, an Air Force flyover and more. Reds owner Bob Castellini will also make remarks and the 2010 Cincinnati Reds will be introduced for the first time. FOX Sports Ohio will begin coverage of the Opening Day pre-game ceremonies at 2:30pm.

FOX Sports Ohio Participates in Sports Marketing and Social Media Panel

On Friday, February 12, 2010 at Nationwide Arena in downtown Columbus, FOX Sports Ohio participated in the AdFed Columbus' two-part panel discussion, "Sports Marketing and Social Media, the Science Behind the Sports Marketing Magic."

Kate Buddenhagen, Communications Manager at FOX Sports Ohio, and Alex Slemc, Director of Marketing and Communications at FOX Sports Ohio participated in the six-person panel moderated by FOX Sports Ohio's host of Cavaliers Live Dionne Miller.

The panel discussion was based on two prevalent topics in the industry of sports marketing.
  • Creating a dynamic relationship between a sports organization and a media partner or rights holder

  • The importance of effective social networking and digital media for sports team and media outlets

The panel also included professionals from the Columbus Blue Jackets, Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Indians, and WBNS Radio "The Fan".

Xavier Interactive Night on FOXSportsOhio.com

FOX Sports Ohio was excited to offer Xavier Musketeer fans an opportunity to interact with the Xavier basketball game telecast on February 17 when the Musketeers took on St. Joseph's University at home.

During this special telecast, viewers had the opportunity to interact with the broadcast team, and the Xavier beat writer live through "Cover It Live" at http://www.foxsportsohio.com/. Fans submitted questions online for play-by-play announcer Brad Johansen and color analyst Steve Wolf. Selected questions were answered LIVE throughout the game telecast by the broadcast team. Xavier beat writer Doug Tifft was also answer fan questions throughout the night in the chat room at http://www.foxsportsohio.com/.

Blue Jackets Action Continued During Olympic Break

FOX Sports Ohio continue our Columbus Blue Jackets coverage during the 2010 Winter Olympic break by televising five (5) unforgettable games from the franchise's history.

We debuted this entertaining series Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at 9 PM.

Hosted by FOX Sports Ohio Blue Jackets announcer Ray Crawford the series featured memorable games including Rick Nash's "Goal of the Year", last season playoff clinching win, and more!

First Follow-Cam

Thursday, February 4, FOX Sports Ohio offered the FOXSportsOhio.com Follow Cam for the first time. Beginning at 8 PM when the Cavaliers took on the Miami Heat, fans had the opportunity to decide what they want to see on the new camera streaming live to www.foxsportsohio.com. This camera was exclusive to the website and fans watching at home could vote on polls to determine who, what, and where the camera shot!

Why did you choose to Intern at FOX Sports Ohio - I wanted to intern at FOX Sports Ohio because I knew that they would offer me a great opportunity to learn a lot in my career field. I wanted to learn about the sports television business while also working for a major company like FOX Sports. I knew that the employees here would have a lot of information and experience to offer me and that I could learn from in order to better understand my own career goals and aspirations.
Bio - My first two years at Baldwin-Wallace were spent playing baseball, which was also my favorite sport throughout high school. Last summer, I was an intern for Rochester Community Baseball in their promotions department who owns the Rochester Red Wings, a Triple-A affiliate in New York. This summer I will return there to intern in their media relations department. I really enjoyed working for them and at a ballpark every night. I realized while I was there that my future has to be in the sports industry. Outside of work, I am a huge Dallas Cowboys and Atlanta Braves fan. I also love the summer weather and plan to move somewhere warmer than Cleveland and New York someday.

Why did you choose to intern at FOX Sports Ohio - I wanted to intern with FOX Sports because I felt it was my best and closest opportunity to work in professional sports. The atmosphere of the office is encouraging and welcoming. I truly feel that interning at FOX Sports will give me a unique experience and a solid "leg-up" on competition when I look for a career after college.
Bio - I played football throughout high school and was a walk-on at Kent State University. Due to injury, I decided to focus on the business side of sports. I was an intern with Kent State athletics for three years; helping with the marketing and promotion of football and basketball (men's and women's). I was an intern with Ohio Varsity sports over the 2009 summer, helping with scouting and implementing various football and basketball camps. My evenings after I'm done at FOX Sports Ohio are spent helping the athletic director at my high school. I'm a Cleveland Browns and Cavaliers fanatic, but follow rugby and soccer religiously.

Bio - I am a senior at John Carroll. While at JCU, I played two years of soccer and compete in almost all intramural sports. I am a three year coed softball champion. Why did you choose to intern at FOX Sports Ohio - I chose to intern at FOX Sports Ohio because I wanted to experience the sports broadcasting industry on a professional level. I also felt it would give me the hands-on training I will need to help me improve and succeed in this field.
Bio - I am a senior at Kent State University and I am looking forward to jump starting my career in sports broadcasting. I feel that I can truly stand out in this field because of my passion for sports, as well as my knowledge of the game. I realized I wanted to pursue a career in sports broadcast when I began playing sports at a very young age. I played basketball and softball, and fast pitch in high school. After graduating, I coached recreation softball for two years. What I like most about sports is that each player plays a valuable role in the success of the team. I am a huge Cleveland sports fan and I plan on pursuing my sports broadcasting career here in Cleveland.
