Giving away a daily prize for 100 days!

FOX Sports Ohio and the Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS) want Ohioans to have a fun and safe summer. That’s why they have teamed up once again. This summer, FOX Sports Ohio is excited to give away a prize a day for 100 days with the “100 Days of Summer” sweepstakes, presented by ODPS.
 
Beginning this Friday, May 27th through Monday, September 5th, visit the contest site to win a daily prize. Simply complete the online form and automatically be entered for the entire 100 days.

A new winner selected each day for 100 days will win a Road Safety Kit along with a $25 gift card to a home improvement, sporting goods or car care location. The first drawing will be made this Saturday, May 28th. On the 101st day, September 5th, one grand prize winner will win a flat screen HDTV and a FOX Sports Ohio prize pack.

Memorial Day Features USO & Texts to Troops

The Cincinnati Reds vs. Milwaukee Brewers game this Memorial Day, Monday, May 30th at 7pm on FOX Sports Ohio will include special features, presented by Wendy’s®, in honor of the United States Military.

During the Reds Live pregame show at 6:30pm, cohosts Jim Day and Jeff Piecoro will interview Steve Lee of the USO Tribute Cincinnati Committee along with a member of the military.

Additionally, viewers will have the opportunity to share special messages in honor of our troops during the telecast. Fans can text their well wishes, gratitude, and shout outs to the military to 37664, which will scroll on screen during the 4th, 6th and 8th innings.

The USO Tribute Cincinnati Committee has partnered with local area Wendy’s to raise money for our troops. From May 30th through July 4th, participating Wendy’s locations in northern Kentucky, eastern Indiana, Cincinnati, Dayton and Athens, Ohio will sell Frosty™ Key Tags for $1.00 to benefit the USO Metropolitan Washington.

The Frosty Key Tags can be redeemed through September 15, 2011, and are valid for one free small Frosty per transaction per visit with any purchase. Approximately eighty cents of each key tag sold goes directly to supporting wounded warriors and their families.

The text message display and support of the USO and the Wendy’s Frosty Key Tag program is a simple way for all involved to say ‘thank you’ to the men and women who selflessly served and continue to serve our country.

Taking Fans Back in "National Pastime"

From the producers of “Baseball’s Golden Age,” FOX Sports Ohio is excited to announce a new program, “The Boys in the Hall,” featuring interviews with legendary members of the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Thirteen different half-hour episodes hosted by Tom Brokaw will present an interview with a different legendary Hall of Famer.

The show will air on Sundays beginning May 29th and each episode will replay throughout the following week.

Of the 13 episodes on the schedule, four showcase an interview with an Ohio legend. Baseball fans will not want to miss Cleveland Indians Larry Doby, Bob Feller, and Robin Roberts as well as Cleveland Indian and Cincinnati Red Frank Robinson giving first-hand accounts of their life as a ballplayer, from the first time they picked up a bat and ball to their induction into the Hall of Fame.

Their stories, along with those of the other nine Hall of Famers, will take viewers back to a time when baseball was truly the “National Pastime” as the stars that played the game cemented their place as timeless heroes.

Prior to the episode airings, Hall of Fame baseball writer Hal McCoy will also be looking back at each players storied careers. His articles, such as the first one on Duke Snyder, will be available on foxsportsohio.com.

  • The event was a joint effort to provide added value to the affiliate partner Insight and advertising partners.
  • An organized autograph and photo session with the Reds stars was followed by an open and friendly Q&A session with the players, moderated by FOX Sports Ohio’s Reds Live cohost, Jim Day.

Providing a Safe Place to Play

Employee Volunteers Build A Playground For Children in Need


FOX Sports Ohio’s community effort, FOX Supports Ohio, joined forces with the PNC Financial Services Group, Inc., and KaBOOM! on Thursday, May 5th to build a playground for the children of Rainey Institute.

FOX Sports Ohio employee volunteers spent the day working with 200 PNC employees and residents of the local community to provide more than 600 children in the Cleveland community with a safe place to play.

Announcing a New Partnership

FOX Sports Ohio and The Greater Columbus Sports Commission (GCSC) have teamed up to further sustain the organization’s mission of attracting regional, national and international sporting events to bolster Greater Columbus economically and socially.

Ohio's leading regional sports network has joined the GCSC Board of Commissioners Executive Council and will be the presenting partner for the VIP reception at The 8th annual Morning Sports Report in June. FOX Sports Ohio will also have the first right to sponsor GCSC events and serve on organizing committees of select Columbus sporting events while helping promote select GCSC sporting events throughout Ohio.
“We are extremely proud to add FOX Sports Ohio to our board,” said Linda Shetina Logan, executive director of the Greater Columbus Sports Commission.

“We are delighted to partner with the Greater Columbus Sports Commission,” said Henry S. Ford, FOX Sports Ohio’s Senior Vice President and General Manager. “While we feel our affiliation with the GCSC will help us further connect with viewers and fans in Central Ohio, FOX Sports Ohio more importantly aims to help promote the region by supporting the GCSC’s efforts to attract and market sporting events.

Jeff Phelps is Back on the Road

Last Cavaliers off-season, Jeff Phelps took fans on a ride throughout Ohio searching for classic cars. This off-season, it's a new name, with a new title sponsor, but the same great look at fabulous classic cars. 

“Cruise-In”,  presented by RK Motors Charlotte, premieres Monday, May 16th at 8pm.
This weekly 30 minute show will take viewers on a trip down an automotive memory lane. As host, Phelps will talk with classic car owners about their pride and joys as he visits classic car shows and cruise-ins around the state.
A new episode will run every Monday night at 8pm through late September, with additional airings of each show throughout the week. Check FoxSportsOhio.com and your local listings for those show times.

“I’ve always loved classic cars — the way they look, the way they drive, and the stories and history surrounding them,” stated Phelps. “We’re fortunate to live in one the hotbeds of the classic car hobby. The vignettes show Day experiencing the local attractions and highlight some of their special features. Multiple spots were created and will air in Cincinnati Reds Baseball throughout the summer as well as during programming that reaches Reds outer market homes.
