Reds win hastag battle with Tigers; Promote All-Star voting

During their interleague series this past weekend, the Cincinnati Reds & Detroit Tigers promoted All-Star voting with a hashtag battle on Twitter - #VoteReds v. #VoteTigers. FOX Sports Ohio teamed with the Reds to support this effort on air and on social media, encouraging fans to tweet #VoteReds.

Aug. 18 Reds-Cubs Game 1

FOX Sports Ohio Picks Up Reds-Cubs Game 1 of Day/Night Double-Header on August 18 at 1pm


The June 10th Cincinnati Reds-Detroit Tigers game was recently selected for exclusive national broadcast, so it is no longer available to be part of FOX Sports Ohio’s Reds lineup.

As a make-up, please note that FOX Sports Ohio has picked up the Reds game on Saturday, August 18 at 1pm against the Chicago Cubs. The game will be preceded by Reds Live pregame show at 12:30pm and followed by Reds Live postgame edition.

This game is the first of a day/night double-header at Great American Ball Park, so FOX Sports Ohio will be back on the air that evening with Reds Live at 6:30pm as pregame coverage of the second game at 7pm.

FOX Sports Ohio Wins Emmy For Live Sporting Event

The National Academy of Arts & Sciences Great Lakes Chapter held its 43rd annual Emmy Award Gala this past Saturday, June 2 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. With over 400 television anchors, reporters, producers, photographers, editors, and production from Cleveland, Akron, Mansfield, Toledo, Youngstown, Lima and Canton, Ohio; Indianapolis, Bloomington, Ft Wayne, Lafayette and Muncie, Indiana; and Erie, Pennsylvania in attendance, it was the largest Emmy Award Gala the NATAS Great Lakes Chapter has seen.

FOX Sports Ohio is proud to have won the Emmy Award for “Live Sporting Event / Game” with High School Football Game of the Week. Congratulations to Executive Producer Tom Farmer, Producer Jeff Platz, and Director Bob Pennell, as well as all members of the FOX Sports Ohio team, for producing such outstanding Northeast Ohio high school football coverage.

Sara Sings the Anthem at Crew Game

On Saturday, May 26th, FOX Sports Ohio Girl Sara sang the National Anthem at Columbus Crew Stadium before the Crew - Chicago Fire game. The Crew beat the Fire 2-1 in an exciting match. Here is a video of Sara's experience!

FOX Sports Ohio Picks Up June 14 Reds Game

As a make-up of the rained out game on May 1, FOX Sports Ohio will televise the Cincinnati Reds game on Thursday, June 14 against the Cleveland Indians. The game will begin at 12:30pm and will be preceded by Reds Live pregame show at 12 noon.

The game will also replay later that same night at 10pm and the following day, Friday, June 15 at 12 noon.

On Wednesday, May 23rd, FOX Sports Ohio hosted a luncheon at Montgomery Inn at The Boathouse in Cincinnati. After networking and enjoying a BBQ lunch, guests were treated to a fun question and answer session with Reds catcher Devin Mesoraco and Reds pitcher Logan Ondrusek.

Attendees also had the opportunity to take photos with the players and get autographs. The event was mediated by Reds Live host Jim Day.

Join Jeff Phelps on a Classic Ride

Over the past few Cavaliers off-seasons, FOX Sports Ohio’s Jeff Phelps has taken fans on a ride in search of classic cars. FOX Sports Ohio is excited to announce the third season of Phelps’ classic car show, “Cruise-In”, presented by RK Motors Charlotte, premiering Monday, May 21st at 8pm.

This weekly 30 minute show will take viewers on a trip down an automotive memory lane. As host, Phelps will visit car shows, cruise-ins and individual collectors looking for great cars and great stories. As he talks with classic car owners about their pride and joys, the show will feature the personal story behind each unique automobile.

"We're absolutely thrilled to get our third season started on FOX Sports Ohio. With the continued support of the folks at RK Motors Charlotte, we've been able to tap into the passion of the classic car hobby, and bring it to FOX Sports Ohio on ‘Cruise-In’,” stated Phelps. “We've had great response from both viewers and classic car owners. People love going to car shows and talking about cars, and that's what "Cruise-In" is all about. We take viewers to the car shows, and share all the great stories."

“Cruise-In” begins Monday, May 21st at 8pm with a new 30-minute show every following Monday for 20 weeks – all in high definition. FOX Sports Ohio will also replay each episode numerous times throughout the week.

Pepsi MAX Field of Dreams game on Sat. May 19 featuring MLB legends Johnny Bench, Frank Thomas, Reggie Jackson, and more!

FOX Sports Ohio is pleased to air the Pepsi MAX Field of Dreams Game on Saturday, May 19 at 4:30pm, or following Reds Live postgame show after the Reds-Yankees game.

The baseball game took place Saturday, May 12 at Huntington Park. It featured a dream team of MLB legends, including Johnny Bench, Frank Thomas, and Reggie Jackson, playing six innings against the winner of the Pepsi MAX Field of Dreams contest, Columbus resident Tim Wisecup and his ten friends.

Last fall, fans had the chance to visit mlb.com/pepsimax to vote for which of four finalists they wanted to host the Pepsi MAX Field of Dreams Team, and now Wisecup will have this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play ball against the starting Dream Team comprised of:
  • Catcher – Johnny Bench
  • First Baseman – Frank Thomas
  • Second Baseman – Edgar Martinez
  • Third Baseman – Wade Boggs
  • Shortstop – Ozzie Smith
  • Outfielders – Reggie Jackson, Rickey Henderson, Dave Winfield
  • Pitcher – Pedro Martinez
  • Relief Pitcher – Dennis Eckersley  
Appearances were also made by Joe Charboneau, Lenny Barker, and Kent Mercker.

FOX Sports Ohio’s telecast on Saturday, May 19 will be a one-hour version of the game. It will air at 4:30pm, or following the Reds Live postgame show after the Reds-Yankees game. George Grande called play by play and David Maetzold and Natalie Taylor served as dugout reporters, interviewing MLB legends and Wisecup.

In addition to the May 19 broadcast, replays will air on the following dates:
  • May 20 at 7pm
  • May 26 at 3pm
  • June 2 at 12pm

The FOX Sports Ohio Girls are hosting these Singles Nights at every Friday home game, featuring singles mixers, drink specials, music and more in the Fan Zone. The fun starts when gates open at 5:40.
