Cavs Box Office Buyout is Back Tues. 1/22

FOX Sports Ohio is excited to give viewers an exclusive opportunity to experience the Cavs live in action at The Q. FOX Sports Ohio is taking over the Cavs box office for another “Box Office Buyout.”

Throughout the 7pm Cavs-Celtics game next Tuesday, Jan. 22, we will announce a special Cavs ticket offer exclusively for FOX Sports Ohio viewers.

During Cavaliers Live Pregame Show at 6:30pm and throughout the game telecast, viewers will learn of the ticket offer details with instructions on how to take advantage of the offer.

Viewers will need to act fast because the exclusive opportunity will only be offered during Tuesday night’s game telecast.

Blue Jackets Slap Shots Returns

FOX Sports Ohio is excited to announce the return of Blue Jackets Slap Shots, premiering Monday, January 21 at 6pm.

This 30-minute show, hosted by FOX Sports Ohio Blue Jackets broadcasters Dave Maetzold and Natalie Taylor, delivers all the action on the Blue Jackets, on and off the ice. Blue Jackets Slap Shots is a week-in-review show that not only recaps previous games and breaks down future match-ups, but also features the best interviews, highlights, and more.

The premiere show on Monday, January 21 at 6pm will feature interviews with a few of the team’s newest additions, including left wings Nick Foligno and Brandon Dubinsky, as well as enforcer right wing Derek Dorsett. The show will additionally include an exclusive interview with new Blue Jackets President of Hockey Operations John Davidson, as he shares his thoughts on the season ahead. We’ll also take viewers inside the Dispatch Media Center to talk to the folks involved in the video board transformation. After this behind-the-scenes look, fans won’t want to miss the incredible in-arena experience of Blue Jackets hockey this season.

Following the premiere on January 21, fans can catch a new show every Monday at 6pm. Replays will also run during the week surrounding Blue Jackets games.

FOX Sports Ohio will be giving away dinner for two with Cavs power forward Tristan Thompson and Cavs broadcaster Fred McLeod. The winner will also win a 46”LED HDTV.
The sweepstakes runs from Tuesday, Jan. 22nd through Monday, Feb. 11th.
To enter, Cavs fans need to watch the ten live Cavs games in the sweepstakes window on FOX Sports Ohio. During each game, the network will provide viewers with a new keyword. FOX Sports Ohio’s coverage of the Columbus Blue Jackets begins on Saturday, January 19 when the club opens the season on the road with an 8pm match-up against Central Division rival Nashville Predators.

Cavs pregame parties get Fan Feedback

The FOX Sports Ohio Girls are hosting Cavaliers pregame parties where fans can play games, win prizes, and share their "Cavs Fan Feedback."

The first pregame party was held at the Harry Buffalo on Dec. 11th prior to the Cavs-Lakers game.

Francois McGillicuddy named SVP & GM of FOX Sports Ohio

Francois McGillicuddy, an accomplished executive with extensive experience in television and sports media, has been named Senior Vice President and General Manager of FOX Sports Ohio. The announcement was made today by Jeff Krolik, Executive Vice President of FOX Sports Networks, to whom McGillicuddy will report.
 
McGillicuddy will oversee all aspects of FOX Sports Ohio’s business, including production, programming, advertising sales, marketing, and team relations, while also working in conjunction with Fox’s affiliate sales and marketing group on distribution issues.

McGillicuddy will also manage the transition of recently acquired SportsTime Ohio into the FOX Sports portfolio of regional sports networks.

FOX Sports Media Group completes acquisition of SportsTime Ohio

FOX Sports Media Group and SportsTime Ohio today announced an agreement that calls for FOX Sports to acquire SportsTime Ohio, the Cleveland-based regional sports network that has been offering local telecasts of Cleveland Indians games for the past seven seasons.

In addition, FOX Sports Media Group announced that it has secured the exclusive long-term local telecast rights for Indians baseball, ensuring that the Indians will once again be part of the FOX Sports portfolio of regionally televised hometown teams. Prior to the 2006 season, Indians games were locally televised by FOX Sports Ohio.

FOX Sports Ohio serves more than five million homes throughout the state of Ohio, as well as portions of Kentucky, Indiana, western Pennsylvania, western New York, and West Virginia. FOX Sports Ohio is the exclusive regional TV home of the Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Cavaliers, Columbus Blue Jackets, Columbus Crew, Xavier Musketeers, and Cincinnati Bearcats.

SportsTime Ohio also offers other locally relevant sports content, including Cleveland Browns programming, OHSAA football and basketball playoffs and championships, and Mid-American Conference events.

“The acquisition of SportsTime Ohio solidifies our business in Ohio, and FOX Sports Media Group’s new long-term agreement with the Indians reunites the team with the FOX Sports family,” said Jeff Krolik, executive vice president, FOX Sports Networks. “We look forward to once again showcasing the Indians to their fans, as well as working with the Indians ownership to continue to enhance the value of this iconic franchise."
