FOX Sports Ohio is gearing up for the Reds Interactive Nights on

During these special nights, Reds fans can visit and submit questions for FOX Sports Ohio Reds broadcasters. Select questions will be recognized and answered live during the telecast.

Fans can also chat live with Hall-of-Fame baseball writer Hal McCoy as well as with other Reds fans throughout the game. There will be interactive polls and chances to win great FOX Sports Ohio prize packs too!

The first interactive night will be Monday, July 19 when the Cincinnati Reds host the Washington Nationals at Great American Ball Park at 7pm.

Tennies, Tuxes and T-Shirts a Success

At Quicken Loans Arena on Friday, July 9th, the Cleveland and Akron chapters of The American Diabetes Association (ADA) hosted 350 guests at Tennies, Tuxes and T-Shirts Gala. The evening of high-stakes celebrity gaming, fine dining, and fabulous live and silent auctions helped raise almost $100,000 for and awareness of the Association's research and mission: to prevent, cure, and manage diabetes.

FOX Sports Ohio's Senior Vice President & General Manager Henry S. Ford served as Honorary Chair for the evening. Mike Snyder of WTAM 1100 emceed while celebrity dealers, including Fred McLeod, the network's Cavs broadcaster; Frank Stams, former linebacker for the Cleveland Browns; Al Jenkins, Super Bowl for Miami Dolphins; Hector Marinaro, Head Coach of Men’s Soccer at John Carroll University; and Otto Orf, former goalie of Cleveland Force and Cleveland Crunch; and many more, worked the tables.

Guests were invited to attend the MedExpo in the Court Club while the health and wellness expo, presented by PDM Healthcare, highlighted preventative medicine, disease management and diabetes awareness and care.

Diabetes affects 330,000 children and adults in Northeast Ohio alone, and 24 million nationally. One in five (or 82,000) Northeast Ohioans have pre-diabetes, which puts them at high risk for developing type 2 diabetes. Summer of LeBron

LeBron James' free agent frenzy was certainly a media circus. And was in the mix, following and reporting on the news surrounding LBJ.

Featuring a "LeBron Tracker" online, fans could get up-to-date tweets from media members and watch daily videos addressing the current status of the King's meetings.

Zac Jackson,'s Cavs Columnist, provided wall-to-wall coverage of the LeBronmania. Each day since June 25, Jackson took a different look at the pros and cons of LeBrons not-yet-announced decision.

We Have Hungry Volunteers

The Community Outreach Committee has scheduled another July volunteer event!

Volunteers will head to the Cleveland Foodbank to check expiration dates, sort food items into categories, and pack the food into cases. Oure team will also help prepare meals to be sent out to soup kitchens and shelters.

About The Cleveland Foodbank: The Foodbank supplies a majority of the food used in local hot meal sites, shelters, and food pantries. In addition, it provides food to child care centers, group homes, and programs for the elderly. The Foodbank also works closely with other Northeast Ohio hunger relief organizations, providing food and nonfood products to hunger centers administered by the Hunger Network of Greater Cleveland, the Catholic Hunger and Shelter Network, and the Salvation Army, among others. Great Scott! produced a web-exclusive show for the Cavaliers - Byron Scott press conference Friday, July 2, video streaming a half hour show with FOX Sports Ohio Cavs broadcaster Fred McLeod and Cavs beat writer Zac Jackson prior to the start of the press conference, featuring user-submitted questions.

We then streamed the press conference in its entirety.

After the presser, we had an 11-minute exclusive interview with Byron Scott conducted by McLeod. After the interview, broadcaster Campy Russell and Jackson joined McLeod and answered more user questions and provided analysis on the Scott hiring.

Despite limited last-minute promotion (via Facebook, Twitter, & and being a holiday weekend, tallied over 16,000 video views and close to 5,000 unique video viewers!

Special July 4 Reds Telecast

In honor of the 234th celebration of United States Independence, the Cincinnati Reds @ Chicago Cubs game on Sunday, July 4th featured a special FOX Sports Ohio telecast, presented by Marathon. Through a live feed from Iraq, FOX Sports Ohio’s Reds broadcasters conducted an interview with Cincinnati-native Sergeant First Class William S. Smith, currently serving in Baghdad.

Currently in his third overseas tour and second combat tour in Irag, Smith has been serving in the military either in the National Guard or on Active Duty for over 16 years. He was born in Cincinnati and raised on a farm in Felicity in Eastern Clermont County. He graduated from Felicity Franklin High School and The University of Cincinnati.

A Cincinnati Reds fan his entire life, Smith idolizes the Big Red Machine and players of the 1990 World Championship team, especially Eric Davis. The network was thrilled to surprise him with a special guest, Eric Davis, on the line.

Viewers also had the opportunity to send special messages to our troops during the telecast. The game was on American Forces Network which is broadcast overseas to troops stationed abroad. Fans texted messages to the troops, and they were displayed throughout the game. Soldiers overseas were also be able to text messages back.

The network additionally featured various Reds players and their personal connection to the July 4th holiday. Specifically, Reds pitcher and singer/guitar player, Bronson Arroyo, performed patriotic songs.

Blue Jackets Live - Summer Special

FOX Sports Ohio and the Columbus Blue Jackets are excited to announce a new summer program, Blue Jackets Live – Summer Special, presented by Toyota Direct, premiering Thursday, July 1 at 7:30pm.

This 30-minute show with Jackets broadcasters Ray Crawford, Bill Davidge, John Michael and Jeff Rimer will bring fans up to speed on their team’s off-season news.

The show features interviews with the Jackets’ new Head Coach Scott Arniel and General Manager Scott Howson. Rimer will also talk to the Blue Jackets first round pick at the site of the NHL Draft, which will be held June 25-26 at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles.

The show will additionally break down the Blue Jackets’ 10th season schedule for 2010-11, including the team’s opening games vs. the San Jose Sharks in Stockholm, Sweden as part of the 2010 Compuware NHL Premiere™ and NHL Face-Off™.

Thursday Night Lights in Northeast Ohio


Tune in to FOX Sports Ohio on Thursdays this fall, beginning August 26. Action starts at 6:30pm with High School Football Live.
FOX Sports Ohio is excited for the return of High School Football Game of the Week. Once again, the network is bringing its Emmy Award-winning live coverage of Northeast Ohio’s high school football action between celebrated rival match-ups into local living rooms this season with 10 exclusive, local games that will air LIVE Thursday evenings this fall. The action starts on FOX Sports Ohio Thursday, August 26 at 6:30pm when the Euclid Panthers host the Strongsville Mustangs.

LIVE coverage will begin Thursday evenings 30 minutes prior to kick-off with HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL LIVE, presented by Grange Insurance. Kenny Roda is returning as host of this pre-game show.

After completing his first full season last year, Hanford Dixon is returning as game analyst. For the fifth consecutive season, three-time Emmy award winner Jeff Phelps will serve as the play-by-play announcer. Dionne Miller will begin her third season as sideline reporter and post-game show host.

Each weeks’ telecasts will promote the schools’ other sports and activities through interviews with athletic directors, principals and other key faculty. And of course, no game is complete without getting the chance to see and hear the marching bands perform at halftime!
