Upon the retirement Joe Tait, long time Hall of Fame radio voice of the Cleveland Cavaliers, FOX Sports Ohio prepared to give a special good-bye. The effort resulted in solid ratings, improved web and social media interaction, increased media coverage and positive fan feedback.

• A special tribute program, “Have A Good Night Everybody,” premiered following Joe’s final broadcast on Wednesday, April  13^th when the Cavs hosted the Wizards. "Have a Good Night Everybody" was Joe's signature send-off.
• FS Ohio simulcasted Joe’s live commentary during the 2^nd half of the game.
• FOXSportsOhio.com features a trailer (click on photo to watch) and bonus video clips of the program and personalized articles. The entire special will be available online soon.

The announcement in March that it had partnered with DoodleMan Productions to produce and air the hour-long special, “Have a Good Night Everybody.” The program features many Joe Tait stories and memories told by numerous individuals including owners, coaches, players, and broadcasters.

The show and the simulcasting of Joe’s live commentary during the final game drew media attention, including but not limited to coverage in The Cleveland Plain Dealer, Crain’s Cleveland Business, The News Herald, Ohio Media Watch, The Northcoast Chronicle, Cleveland.com, The Morning Journal, Waiting for Next Year, RealCavsFans.com, CavaliersUnited.com, and even Yahoo Sports.

The producer of the show, Leo Simone, was interviewed on WAKR in Akron, OH, and FS Ohio Executive Producer Tom Farmer was also interviewed on WEOL in Elyria, OH.

We were able to build relationships within the online community, as well as the media, by sending out advance copies of the DVD.

FOXSportsOhio.com’s Zac Jackson and Sam Amico contributed feature stories in honor of Joe Tait, which accompanied the video of the show’s trailer as well as exclusive bonus video clips.

FOXSportsOhio.com is currently working to get the entire program available online due to so many Joe Tait fans outside FOX Sports Ohio’s distribution requesting to see the program.
