Ohio Teens: Here’s Your Chance to be on TV!

FOX Sports Ohio Calls for Teen Driver Safety Videos in Support of the Ohio Department of Public Safety’s Efforts for Teen Driver Safety Week

Ohio teenagers now have the chance to be creative, make their own video, and maybe even be on television! The Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS) recognizes National Teen Driver Safety Week October 16 thru 22 and FOX Sports Ohio is showing support by providing local teenagers an opportunity to be on television in November.

How can safe driving teens be on TV? ODPS is asking them to create and submit a video telling their friends why it’s important to follow safe driving practices. This video should incorporate the slogan “Drive by the Rules. Keep the Privilege.” Guidelines, rules and regulations, and the entry form are posted at www.FOXSportsOhio.com/pages/teendriversafety. Teen videos submitted from 2009 Teen Driver Safety Week are also posted online. Here is the winner of the 2009 campaign!

ODPS will select the video(s) to air during a FOX Sports Ohio telecast. Other selected videos that follow the guidelines will be posted on FOXSportsOhio.com as well as FOX Sports Ohio’s Facebook and YouTube pages.
The video entry deadline is October 31, 2011.
Entries can be emailed or submitted on DVD as WAV, WMV, QuickTime, MOVE or MPEG files and can be sent to the following:

Via email (if under 20 MB) FSOvideo@gmail.com

Mail DVD to:

National Teen Driver Safety Week is critical because 16-year-olds have the highest crash rate per mile driven of any age group and motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death among teens aged 16 to 18. In partnering with ODPS, FOX Sports Ohio hopes to raise awareness for National Teen Driver Safety Week and promote smart and safe driving practices among Ohio’s teens.
