FOX Sports Ohio, the regional home of Dayton Flyers basketball, and the University of Dayton announced today its men’s basketball package for the 2011-2012 season.
FOX Sports Ohio will produce and televise six men’s basketball games. Tip-off for the first Flyers game on FOX Sports Ohio is Wednesday, November 30th as Dayton hosts Buffalo. A complete schedule is HERE.
Play-by-play announcer Jeff Piecoro and color analyst Derrick Dukes return to the FOX Sports Ohio broadcast table to call all the action.
Piecoro just completed his 14th season with FOX Sports Ohio and 13th season as host of the Reds Live pre- and postgame shows. The broadcast veteran started his career in Lexington, Kentucky where he worked at WTVQ- TV, the ABC affiliate, and WLEX- TV, the NBC affiliate, as weekend sports anchor and sports reporter.
A Cincinnati native, Dukes was a four-year starter at the University of Dayton under former Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers, and Indiana Pacers Head Coach, Jim O’Brien. As a point guard, he scored 1,061 points, passed for 497 assists, garnered 375 rebounds, and made 166 steals, during his college playing career. Dukes is the only player in UD’s 100+ years basketball history to lead the team in assists four consecutive seasons and one of only five players in school history to score over 1000 points and pass for at least 495 assists during their career. He was the team MVP for the 1992-1993 basketball season. He started his broadcast career with WHIO-TV (CBS affiliate in Dayton), Time Warner Regional TV Sports, and WHIO-Radio Show “Flyer Feedback” during the 2005 college basketball season.
